  3. Which file formats am I able to use as attachments?

  4. How long will it take to transmit my fax?

When you send a fax: Upon receipt of your email, we will begin sending your fax to its destination(s) immediately. If not successful on the first attempt, it will be resent 2 more times at 3-minute intervals. Note: You will not be charged for unsuccessful faxes.

When you receive a fax: We immediately convert your fax to an email and forward it to you. The only reason for a delay would be the result of a delay by your internet service provider.

  5. How will I know if my fax is delivered?

An email confirmation notice with the following information will be sent to you as soon as the delivery results are known, ie:

    Fax was sent successfully
    Reference No. :
    Sent At :
    # of pages :
    To fax # :

  6. Does my computer have to be turned on to receive faxes?

No. All messages are stored in your email account, waiting for you to retrieve them whenever you want.

  7. If two people send me a fax at the same time, will one of them get a busy signal?

No. Your REFP number is an "always-on, never busy" number. Multiple faxes can be received simultaneously.

  8. I want my faxes to go to two email addresses. Is this possible?

Yes. Faxes sent to your REFP number can be sent to up to 3 email addresses simultaneously. This is ideal if you want faxes to go to both your email and your administrative assistant's email addresses, or if you want faxes to go to both your work and home email accounts.

  9. The faxes I receive are typically 10 - 20 pages long. How large will the file be?

A 10-page fax plus a cover page is approximately 320 kb.

  10. How many recipients can I send a fax to at the same time?

You can send your fax to 9 destinations at one time. Whenever you send a fax to more than one destination at one time, this is considered a Broadcast Fax, not a Single Fax. As a result, it will be included in the Broadcast report of your Fax Status and Fax History web pages

  11. What happens if I need you to resend my fax?

An administration fee of $25 will apply for each special request to search our historical data logs to locate previously sent faxes. Some reasons why you may need your fax resent: you lost your fax; you forgot to tell us that your email address changed; server or other technical problems within your organization, etc..

  12. Do you put your own advertisements on my faxes?

No we do not include our advertisements on your faxes. Virtual Fax is your Real Estate communication medium and we do not interfere with the document in any way.

  13. Can the person receiving my fax see the password that I type in my email?

No one can view your password. It is stripped from your fax before it is forwarded to the final destination.

  1. Do you offer Corporate Pricing?

Yes, we do offer Corporate Pricing. We offer discounts to customers who send or receive high volumes of faxes and we also offer discounts to customers who wish to register more than 10 accounts. When registering multiple accounts, each person is given their own Real Estate toll free number for receiving faxes. We can setup your accounts so that they "pool" (or share) everyone's usage. This means that your group of accounts will be treated like an individual account and share the total number of pages available. If one person goes over their "usage limit", they can use the available pages from another account that hasn't reached their limit. Please contact us to learn more about our corporate Plans.

  2. Do you offer any other monthly packages?

Yes, we have some higher volume packages available for corporate customers and heavy fax users. Please contact us to learn more about our higher volume pricing plans.

  3. Do you offer a "Pay as you go" package for sending faxes?

Yes, we offer the choice between a monthly or annual service fee to maintain your fax number and from there, each page that you send is on a "Pay as you go" plan. View our REFP Pricing for more information.

  4. Do you offer a "Pay as you go" package for receiving faxes?

Yes, we offer the choice between a monthly or annual service fee to maintain your fax number and depending on the package you choose (Local or Toll Free), we include some free inbound pages. From there, each page that you send is on a "Pay as you go" plan. View our REFP Pricing for more information.

  5. Are there any additional taxes?

Customers in the US do not pay taxes. Canadian customers pay PST and GST according to Provincial regulations.

  6. Is there a contract I have to sign?

No, there is only a Terms and Conditions that you must agree to when registering for the service. It is part of the online registration process. There is no contract that requires you to remain a customer for a minimum length of time.

  7. Is there a minimum time I must register for?

No, there is no minimum registration period. We charge you at the beginning of every month for the service. If you no longer wish to use the service simply contact us and we will cancel your account - you will not be charged for the following month.

  8. Can I change my packages after I register without penalty?

Yes, you can change your package after registering without penalty. Simply contact us and let us know which package you would like to switch to.

  9. How much does it cost to fax internationally?

Click here for a list of our international prices per page.

  1. What are the technical and software requirements of the service?

To send and receive faxes all you need is an email account and Internet access. To enhance your user experience we recommend Netscape 4.75 or Internet Explorer version 5.0 or higher.

When receiving faxes, they will arrive as PDF attachments to your email. All that you need to read a PDF is the Free Adobe Reader - available at Adobe.com. Alternatively, you can choose to receive faxes as TIFF images. The imaging application you require to view multi-page TIF files (faxes) should already be installed on your computer.

  2. Is your web site secure?

Our registration page that requests your credit card information, and our password protected account pages are housed on a secure server using SSL encryption.

  3. Can your staff members read my faxes?

No. In order to ensure your security and confidentiality, our system is completely automated. Once your message arrives at your Virtual Fax number, it is sent directly to your email address then removed from our server.

  4. Is your system Macintosh compatible?

We do have customers who are Macintosh users and enjoy our service, however it is not a supported platform.

  5. Can I use REFP with my broadband Internet service?

Yes you can. As long as you can send and receive email you can use Virtual Fax, because it does not rely on a dedicated phone line, but uses your email service instead.

  6. What email applications work with this service?

As long as your email is MIME compliant you will be able to use REFP.
